“Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of production and trade…” Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

Notwithstanding the quote from Atlas Shrugged, the Alarm Association of Florida proceeds annually to establish a business conference and product exposition for our members and even those reluctant non-members in the industry. Perhaps we should not judge our fellow industry folks too harshly for not belonging to our fine organization. However, they are sorely missing out on some great opportunities.

For example, they could be receiving their required fourteen (14) hours of license renewal courses at no charge as a member. They could also receive reduced rates for their industry insurance premiums as an AAF member. Their children could also benefit from the FREE scholarships the AIFF gives away at every show. Their employee training costs and membership fees would automatically be recycled into legislative representation in Tallahassee and to support a full-time staff to assist them.

But then again by not telling them of these things, you the members have more in the pool of resources to spread around to fellow members. But let’s not be greedy. Let’s spread some of the wealth and good will to those poor souls who are blissfully ignorant of our Association benefits. After all their participation would be more than welcome, not to mention their financial support.

In any event we have an all-star list of presenters, lecturers and guests for our annual AAF Business Conference. The conference is being held at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center, 1500 Sand Lake Road, Orlando, FL 32809. (800.588.4656) (https://fla-alarms.org/convention/). The dates are May 23rd & 24th, 2018. The classes will provide CE’s for state of Florida license holders during this renewal year and for our AAF members they will be at no charge. There are over forty vendors committed to display their wares which these days are spectacular. The room rates for the hotel are special rates for the conference @ $134.00.

The AAF is working hard to provide the absolute best training product for our license holders and their employees. This show will exhibit those qualities and do right by our members. Make sure to register for the show as attendee or vendor, register for the hotel and review the show schedule for the classes you need.

Besides the show the AAF will be producing classes throughout the entire year both in the classroom (https://fla-alarms.org/training/training-schedule/) and on line (www.alarmacademy.org) . We will also hold license renewal classes for all alarm and electrical contractors at regular rates in major cities across Florida during this cycle.

Don’t forget to check our newest industry insurance program:(www.merrillinsurance.com/products/alarm/) for fantastic coverage and rates. It is also available outside the state of Florida with discounts to our AAF members.
