“Only the educated are free.” ~ Epictetus 55-135 BC (Greek Philosopher and exponent of Stoicism)

For many years the Alarm Industry Foundation of Florida (a sister organization of the AAF) has provided scholarships for member’s children and children of public safety personnel. AIFF has donated tens of thousands of dollars to many students.

Each year the Alarm Industry Foundation of Florida awards scholarships to these eligible candidates. Once again for 2017 from September 15 through December 15, applications for scholarships will be accepted for review. Upon approval by the Trustees, the Foundation will present money to worthy students that can be used to assist in paying for their education. The application and guidelines for this wonderful project are at the following link:

Students and children of parents within private sector security or public safety who meet the qualifications are eligible to apply for this marvelous benefit. If you know of anyone who meets these criteria, please refer them to the web site to fill out an application. Please be advised that the deadline for filing applications is December 15, 2017 beginning on September 15, 2017. Please make sure that all of the necessary paperwork is completed fully and submitted to the foundation to meet the qualifications in a timely fashion.

We urge all our members to take advantage of this as both an industry benefit and a practical solution to today’s rising education costs. Anyone associated with financing education in today’s marketplace is very familiar with what is required and every bit of additional income helps immensely.

In addition, we encourage anyone who wishes to donate to the scholarship fund, to contribute whatever you can to help us raise the continuing tax deductible monies for this project. A contribution link is available on the web site at:

Our thanks to all previous contributors and we seek your indulgence once again in helping us maintain this critical and necessary work.

We thank the trustees of the AIFF for their untiring efforts and invite all of you to express your thanks to them for this great project that has benefited so many over the years. Let us all continue to help those so deserving of these grants.
